Welcome to Collage Soul Connections
Crafting Your Soul's Journey
For the past thirty five years I have been working to companion those wishing to dive deeper and explore their inner potential/life journey. Using images, imagination, intuition through the process of SoulCollage (r), Spiritual Direction and Expressive Arts you can learn to love yourself more fully, warts and all. Throughout the Hunter Region it has been my privilege to accompany those interested in personal development, to embrace their growing edges whilst learning new techniques in fun and enjoyable ways.

What is SoulCollage®?
This process was developed by Seena Frost (psychotherapist) after participating in a Dr Jean Huston program from 1986 to 1989. As Seena worked in a world of myth, archetypal psychology and various spiritual practices during this time, the work with collaged cards evolved.
SoulCollage® is a collage process, in which someone makes a personal deck of cards, one card at a time. No need to be an artist, you simply choose and cut out images from magazines to paste them onto your card in any way that pleases you. You then give voice to the card through some prompts for reflective reading/writing. It is easy, fun, and satisfying and can be used by individuals or in groups (families, churches, schools, therapy, coaching, and many other contexts.)
Expressive arts
Art as Therapy, Acrylic Pouring, Crafts for Personal Development
I completed a year long Art Therapy intensive course in 2009 with Rob Gray (psychologist/art therapist), Centre for Educational and Clinical Art Therapy. I have always been fascinated by the creative process and enjoy playing with all forms.
Expressive Arts is the practice of using imagery, story telling, dance, music, drama, poetry, writing, movement and visual arts in an integrate way to foster human growth, development and healing.
It is based on the premise that we are infused with the gift of imagination. And the process is far more important then the product. This self exploration can lead to many benefits, such as mindfulness, authenticity, personal growth, confidence, self-actualisation, healing, an embodied sense of vitality, meaning and enjoyment of life.

Spiritual Direction
“We all are spiritually hungry. We all need someone to walk with us. To journey with us. To give us courage, to give us the incentive, to give us the inspiration. And that’s what a Spiritual Director is. That’s what we do”.
Rev Dr Carol Vaccariello
What is Spiritual Direction or Companioning?
Spiritual Direction is the practice of being with people as they seek to deepen their relationship with their God (whatever name they may choose to call this) as they learn and grow in their own personal spirituality. I often refer to this process as
“companioning” the person. I first became interested in Spiritual Direction after I had a unique experience with the presence I call God in my mid-thirties. I turned to a Spiritual Director for help and have had a Spiritual companion most of my life since then.
Spiritual companioning assists seekers to discern the movement of God in their life, they can be described as an anchor on the spiritual journey, keeping a soul secure and safe as it explores its path. This process is a mutual journey for both the director and the directee as both experience growth in the relationship.
God is the “third person” in the spiritual dialogue, as this Presence graces the seeker’s sincere searching of the soul.
Are they being led to life, or are they moving away from it?
Spiritual Direction is not counselling. It’s not giving advice. It’s companioning people on their own faith journey in their own unique, God graced way. It is a conversation, which leads to an ongoing relationship – an opportunity to talk about those things that are real, deeply personal, faith led. Director and directee join together, listening for the quiet, still voice of God with a willing humility and openness to transformation.
If this sounds like something you would like to explore, please contact me. I have been a Spiritual Companion since 2009 with Barnabas Ministries. I am available for 1 x 1 Spiritual Direction; Available for group Spiritual Direction.
Part of my story
Together let us explore creative ways to help you become the best YOU that you can be!
All those I meet, whether through my SoulCollage (r) workshops, Spiritual Companionship or Expressive Arts ventures - know that I acknowledge and value the unique person that they are. It is because I have experienced life's journey myself with all its ups and downs that I can appreciate the exceptional beauty of each individual.
I am a wife, mother and proud grandmother. I have worn many hats over the years: drama teacher, Reiki master, Family Dispute Practitioner, Trainer in many areas of personal development, SoulCollage (r) facilitator, Expressive Arts teacher,
Spiritual Director, as well as working in Corrective Services.
During my own journey (spiritual and personal), I have seen many aspects of life, and so I hope to bring my wisdom and knowings to walk with each of you.

W says"In a SoulCollage session Nanoya provides a supportive setting for a gentle exploration of our responses to the images we select to create our collages"
G M says: "Being a left brain person, I was a little apprehensive in attending a SoulCollage event, led by Nanoya. However, the experience was a good one, and I think I came to appreciate much more the power of images. In my bedroom I now have a number of images on a (Vision Board) that speak to me in ways that mere words generally do not. These images remind me of much of what I believe my personal vision in life to be" "I admire your enthusiasm and dedication Nanoya"
